World-Renowned Relationship Builders Bring Trans

This August, Hedy and Yumi Schleifer bring their internationally-renowned relationship building workshops to Asheville, North Carolina. Hedy, an Imago trainer and therapist and her husband Yumi will host three separate workshops over a two week period at the Renaissance Hotel downtown. In a world where it seems easier to exit a relationship than to learn how to transform it into a fulfilling and meaningful way of life, Hedy and Yumi teach couples, therapists, and growth-oriented individuals how to have passionate, rewarding, and lasting relationships. Workshops give couples the tools required to understand each other, listen to each other, and to enable each other to grow.

Married for over 40 years, Hedy and Yumi travel the globe promoting the “power of connection” among couples and nations. Over the past 15 years, they have taught couples on six continents and in five languages how to “cross the bridge” to one another and deepen their relationships through their unique “Adventure in Intimacy” three day couple’s workshop.

The “Adventure in Intimacy” workshop will be held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, August 6-8 from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily. Based on seven principles and seven rituals, the workshop teaches couples to reboot their relationship, reconnect with each other more deeply, and rediscover the joy of being together. It helps couples shift from blame to cooperation, strengthens intimacy, and teaches the skills to dissolve conflict. The workshop is perfect for couples at all stages of a relationship, including those undecided about staying together, couples looking to enrich their partnership and improve communication, couples preparing for marriage, or parents interested in creating a better climate to raise their children in.

A one-day workshop is also available for anyone seeking to build stronger personal and business relationships. The “Wonder of Connection” workshop will be held on Sunday, August 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Through a series of experiential exercises, video presentations, and heartfelt discussions, participants will learn healthier ways of resolving conflict and gain life-changing relationship building skills. The award-winning documentary Crossing the Bridge will be shown during the one day “Wonder of Connection” workshop. The film follows Hedy and Yumi into their “Adventure in Intimacy” workshops in Vancouver, Vienna, and Israel to witness the transformation of couples as they “Cross the Bridge” to each other, an intimate ritual designed to clean out the emotional pollution that exists in the “sacred space” of our relationships.

The final workshop will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 14-15. “The Art of Relational Couples Therapy” is a two-day clinical training for psychologists, family and marriage therapists, and counselors. Through a combination of live demonstrations, theory, and practice, professionals will learn to become more effective and empowered in the art of coaching couples. The training will be based on live work with couples and 14 CEU credits provided.

Refugees from the Holocaust, the husband and wife team share a common goal “to heal the world, one relationship at a time,” says Hedy, a Psychotherapist and Certified Imago trainer with 35 years of experience. Hedy believes that world peace begins with the transformation of the human family and can best be achieved by creating stronger, more committed partnerships. The workshop teachings are based on a unique blend of psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy, Imago Relationship Therapy, the relational philosophy of Martin Buber, Appreciative Inquiry, and the positive psychological approach of Re-evaluation Counseling.
